At the 52nd Primetime Emmy Awards, the series was nominated for 9 awards, which include a 2nd nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Parker. Sarah Jessica Parker performed the lead character Carrie Bradshaw, a author of a sexual intercourse column, "Sex and the City", for the fictional New York Star newspaper and the narrator of the series. Lloyd Paseman of Eugene Register-Guard gave the series a 4 star (out of 5) rating, praising the ensemble effectiveness by the cast, the realistic mother nature of the people and the writing. Sex and the City acquired seven nominations from the Online Film & Television Association for the OFTA Television Awards, which includes awards for Best New Comedy Series, Best Cable Series and Best Ensemble in a Cable Series.
